Bob MacIntyre plans to enjoy some downtime with friends in Oban after his impressive win at the Canadian Open, while his competitors return to the USPGA Tour grind. Despite withdrawing from the Memorial Tournament, Bob MacIntyre wanted to underscore his ambition. He clarified that his decision was not intended as a slight against host Jack Nicklaus. Instead, it was a strategic move to prioritize his preparation and focus on upcoming challenges on the USPGA Tour. Securing his place in a prestigious event with a £15.7m prize fund, MacIntyre opted to head back to Scotland for a brief break before the upcoming US Open.

Reflecting on his recent success, he acknowledges the mental toll of six consecutive tournaments but underscores the importance of preparing for future challenges. Although his victory in Canada has bolstered his confidence, MacIntyre emphasizes that winning won’t change who he is as a person.
