Canadian Open: MacIntyre and Fox Share Lead at Ten Under Par

Canadian Open second round leaderboard, Robert MacIntyre from Scotland and Ryan Fox from New Zealand share the lead at ten under par. American Joel Dahmen trails by two strokes at eight under while England’s David Skinns, along with Americans Andrew Novak and Mackenzie Hughes, are tied at seven under. Notable performances include England’s Tommy Fleetwood and Aaron Rai at three under, Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy at two under and Ireland’s Shane Lowry, England’s Matt Wallace and Georgia Hall, all at level par.

Meanwhile, Martin Laird from Scotland sits at three over while England’s Ben Taylor trails at four over and Chris Tarren from England lags behind at eight over. Bob MacIntyre commended his father Dougie for his stand-in caddie role as he shares the lead in the Canadian Open. The 27-year-old, currently bogey-free, followed his opening round of 64 with a 66 to reach ten under alongside Ryan Fox at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. MacIntyre, without a regular caddie brought his father along for the week, who jokingly mentioned negotiating a wage as they walked up to the last hole.

Reflecting on the previous week’s tragic news of PGA Tour player Grayson Murray’s passing, MacIntyre emphasized the significance of life beyond golf and aimed to cherish moments with his father on the course amidst the somber backdrop. MacIntyre’s joint lead at the tournament’s halfway mark comes alongside New Zealand’s Ryan Fox, who carded a 64 on Friday with American Joel Dahmen trailing by two strokes. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy slipped down the leaderboard after an opening 66, scoring a 72 to sit at two under par at the tournament’s midpoint.
