Louisville police will investigate whether they followed correct protocols during the arrest of world number one golfer Scottie Scheffler at the US PGA Championship. Despite not being involved in the accident, Scheffler reportedly tried to bypass the scene before police intervened. Upon release, Scheffler called it a “big misunderstanding,” with his lawyer citing eyewitnesses for his innocence.
Videos depicting Scheffler handcuffed and escorted into a police car outside the Louisville course circulated online. An officer allegedly dragged Scheffler to the ground, injuring his wrist and knee, per a police report.
