Snoop Dogg Joins Olympic Torch Relay as Final Torchbearer

Snoop Dogg, the American rapper will carry the Olympic flame as one of the final torchbearers leading up to Friday’s opening ceremony in Paris. Specifically, the 52-year-old will run with the torch through Saint-Denis, a suburb in northern Paris and home to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium on Friday. This leg of the relay is the penultimate stretch before the flame embarks on its final journey to the Eiffel Tower.

Since May, a variety of notable figures have carried the Olympic torch across France. Among them are former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, Formula One driver Charles Leclerc, and actress Halle Berry. Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., was born in Los Angeles. Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Games. He will now join the torch relay in this significant role.

Moreover, other torchbearers in Saint-Denis will include French actress Laetitia Casta and rapper MC Solaar. This segment of the relay not only highlights but also celebrates the diverse range of personalities selected to participate in this historic event.
