Spain will face France in the final of the men’s Olympic football competition following a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Morocco. In the semi-final clash, Morocco took the lead in the first half when Soufiane Rahimi converted a penalty. This marked Rahimi’s sixth goal of the Games, making him the tournament’s top scorer. Midway through the second half in Marseille, Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez equalised by seizing the opportunity from a loose ball in the penalty area.

Five minutes before the end, substitute Juanlu Sanchez drilled home the winner, securing Spain’s spot in the final. Spain will now compete against France with Thierry Henry coaching the team, in Friday’s final in Paris at 20:00 BST. The French team earned their place in the final by overcoming Egypt 3-1 after extra time in the other semi-final match.

Meanwhile, Morocco and Egypt will battle for the bronze medal in Nantes on Thursday. Despite their early lead, Morocco couldn’t hold off Spain’s relentless attack and will now seek redemption against Egypt, who also faced a tough defeat in their semi-final match.

The stage is set for an exciting conclusion to the Olympic football competition with Spain and France vying for gold and Morocco and Egypt aiming for a spot on the podium.
