Geane Herrera, a former UFC flyweight, has tragically passed away at the age of 33. Herrera began his MMA career in 2011 and competed in 13 fights over seven years, with four of those bouts taking place in the UFC. Sadly, the Colombian reportedly succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Tampa, Florida.

Herrera’s family shared their profound grief and remembrances on a dedicated GoFundMe page, affirming that Geane will forever reside in their hearts. Additionally, they mentioned his surviving loved ones, including his 16-year-old son, pregnant girlfriend, parents and family, who will mourn deeply. Through their expressions of sorrow, they honor Herrera’s memory and the impact he had on their lives.

In his UFC debut in 2015 against Ray Borg, Geane Herrera suffered a defeat via unanimous decision. However, he rebounded with a victory over Joby Sanchez in his subsequent octagon appearance. Borg, reflecting on Herrera’s passing, shared his condolences on Instagram, describing Herrera as “a good guy” and expressing his sympathies to Herrera’s family.

Besides his UFC tenure, Geane Herrera expanded his fighting repertoire by joining the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) in 2021. He achieved a victory through a technical knockout in his lone bout in the organization.
