Fin Smith Wins RPA Player of the Year

Fin Smith concludes a remarkable season by clinching the prestigious Rugby Players’ Association (RPA) Player’s Player of the Year award. Fellow professionals give him the highest number of votes, recognizing his stellar performance. During the Six Nations clash against Italy, he marks his senior England debut showcasing his talent on the international stage. Smith’s outstanding contributions prove pivotal in Northampton’s Premiership table-topping campaign, where he amasses an impressive 235 points.

Additionally, the Premiership’s team of the season includes Smith, along with his teammates Courtney Lawes, Alex Coles, Curtis Langdon and Ollie Sleightholme. Fin Smith expresses his gratitude for the honor and attributes his success to the unwavering support he receives from his Northampton teammates and coaches. Meanwhile, Meg Jones, the center for the Leicester Tigers secures the RPA Women’s Player of the Year award for her influential role in England’s third consecutive Grand Slam victory.

Former England flanker Lawes enters RPA Hall of Fame while Exeter wing Feyi-Waboso clinches Young Player of the Year. Furthermore, Saracens forward Ben Earl is awarded the England Men’s Player of the Year. Alex Matthews and Marlie Packer receive the England Women’s Player of the Year and Special Merit prize, respectively, for their outstanding contributions to the sport. Similarly, the Special Merit prize celebrates Marlie Packer’s outstanding achievements in rugby, honoring her contributions to the sport.
