Glasgow Warriors Cruise Past Racing 92 to Reach Knockouts

Glasgow Warriors stormed into the Champions Cup knockout stages with an emphatic bonus-point victory over Racing 92 at Scotstoun. The hosts dominated the first half, crossing the line four times through George Horne, Jamie Dobie, Sebastian Cancelliere and Sione Tuipulotu. Tuipulotu’s break set up Horne’s early try, making him Glasgow’s all-time top try-scorer in European competition.

Though Horne left the field for a head injury assessment and did not return, his replacement Dobie quickly added to the tally, capitalizing on a strong Matt Fagerson burst. Cancelliere then finished off a dazzling midfield move before Racing responded with a Vinaya Habosi try off Antoine Gibert’s crossfield kick. Tuipulotu restored Glasgow’s control with a powerful finish, giving the Warriors a 15-point halftime lead.

The second half saw Rory Darge extend Glasgow’s dominance, peeling off a maul for their fifth try. Racing finally gained momentum with Lee-Marvin Mazibuko scoring from sustained pressure and Tristan Tedder finishing a fluent move for their third try. Despite this late rally, Glasgow comfortably secured the win and the crucial five points.

The result propels the Glasgow Warriors into the knockouts where they aim to improve their pool standings with a strong showing against Harlequins next week. Their clinical attack and relentless energy at Scotstoun showcased their European credentials and set them up as serious contenders in the tournament.
