Glasgow Warriors delivered a commanding second-half performance to overcome the Bulls in the United Rugby Championship final. Initially trailing 13-0 at halftime in Pretoria, Glasgow staged a comeback with three tries to the Bulls’ one, courtesy of Scott Cummings, George Turner and Huw Jones. Despite a late yellow card to Tom Jordan offering hope to the Bulls, the resilient Warriors clinched their second title victory. The 2015 champions had to defeat the likes of Stormers and Munster to reach their fourth final since 2014, making their triumph in front of a packed 52,000-strong home crowd even more remarkable.

Glasgow’s victory at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, nearly 9,000 miles from home, defied expectations and marked their first win on South African soil in almost six years. Initially struggling against a strong start from the Bulls, Glasgow recovered momentum with a crucial score from Scott Cummings just before halftime. The second half saw Glasgow dominate, led by impressive performances from players like Matt Fagerson and Zander Fagerson, who put in monumental efforts throughout the match.

Reflecting on the victory, former Warriors captain Fraser Brown praised the team’s transformation under head coach Franco Smith, emphasizing their improved resilience and conditioning. Smith himself highlighted Glasgow’s hard-edged performance and expressed confidence in their potential to achieve even more in the future. The match saw Glasgow Warriors demonstrate their prowess and determination on the international stage, solidifying their status as a force to be reckoned with in rugby union.
