Glasgow Warriors Shine in 3-0 Win Over Sale Sharks

Glasgow Warriors started their Investec Champions Cup campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory over Sale Sharks securing a bonus-point win at Scotstoun. Scrum-half George Horne starred with a hat-trick scoring three of Glasgow’s five first-half tries while Kyle Rowe and Huw Jones also added to the scoreboard. The Warriors took an early lead with Matt Fagerson offloading to Jones, who then set up Horne for a quick try.

Horne added another shortly after, chasing down his own grubber kick for a second try. Glasgow’s fast-paced attack continued with Rowe bursting through to score and Horne converting. Sale Sharks struggled in the opening 20 minutes but responded with a penalty try from a rolling maul and a try from Aaron Reed. Despite being down a player after Horne was sent to the bin, Glasgow added a fourth try.

Rory Darge’s pick-and-go set up Jones for a try in the corner with Tom Jordan converting in Horne’s absence.  Sale’s Reed scored again but Glasgow’s dominance continued with Horne completing his hat-trick after a powerful burst from Jamie Bhatti. Sale Sharks tried to get back into the game but Glasgow’s defense remained strong in the second half. A final try from Scott Cummings sealed the win for the Warriors.

The match also marked the return of several Glasgow internationals including Scotland captain Sione Tuipulotu and props Jamie Bhatti and Zander Fagerson, who added considerable quality to the team’s performance. Glasgow Warriors now face Toulon away next Sunday while Sale will host Racing 92 on Friday.
