Jamie Peacock Joins Rugby League Hall of Fame

Jamie Peacock, the former Great Britain captain is set to be inducted into the Rugby League Hall of Fame next month, alongside Jane Banks, Michelle Land and Paul Sculthorpe. Their inductions will bring the total number of players in the Hall of Fame to 41 including 36 men and five women. The ceremony will take place in Wigan.

Additionally, Rugby Football League chief executive Tony Sutton praised the inductees, noting their significant contributions to the sport. “All four represented their clubs and country with distinction throughout their playing careers and served as inspirational role models for countless young players,” Sutton said.

Jamie Peacock, a dominant forward, made 57 international appearances for England and Great Britain. His illustrious club career saw him win nine Grand Finals, representing the Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos during trophy-filled spells. Furthermore, Jane Banks a versatile player made her Great Britain debut at the age of 17 in 1998.

She played for Warrington Ladies, Hindley Pumas and Bradford Thunderbirds during her career, establishing herself as a key figure in women’s rugby league. Similarly, Michelle Land, who played as a hooker or half-back earned 16 caps and captained Wakefield Panthers for 14 years demonstrating her leadership and skill on the field.

Meanwhile, Paul Sculthorpe a two-time Man of Steel winner had a glittering career with St Helens winning three Grand Finals, three Challenge Cups and three World Club Challenge titles. His success with both club and country cemented his legacy as one of the sport’s all-time greats.
