Leinster Stays Perfect in URC with 33-12 Win Over Connacht

Leinster maintained their perfect record in the United Rugby Championship achieving five bonus-point victories from five games by defeating a resilient Connacht side 33-12 at the Sportsground in Galway. With this win, Leinster moves seven points clear at the top of the table while Connacht, who suffered a loss to Ulster last week, sits in seventh place.

Leinster opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Jamie Osborne powered over from close range, with Ciaran Frawley converting. They continued to dominate both territory and possession with Liam Turner adding a second try in the corner following an offload from RG Snyman. Despite a disallowed try from James Ryan because of accidental offside, Connacht gained momentum and eventually scored.

Sean O’Brien broke through from close range to put points on the board for his team. However, Leinster responded with a converted try from Snyman just before halftime, leading 21-5 at the break. In the second half, Leinster kept up the pressure with Max Deegan diving over for the bonus-point try just four minutes after the restart.

Connacht demonstrated resilience by scoring again through Cathal Forde, who sliced through the defense to touch down under the posts.  Josh Ioane successfully converted the try, adding two points for his team. However, Leinster quickly regained control as Andrew Osborne sprinted to gather Ross Byrne’s restart kick and raced over for their fifth try.

Despite Connacht’s aggressive play, including a missed opportunity from second row Darragh Moore, Leinster held on for the victory. This match marked Leinster’s second consecutive Irish interprovincial win. The teams featured key players such as Jamie Osborne and RG Snyman for Leinster and O’Brien and Forde for Connacht. Referee Eoghan Cross officiated the match.
