New Zealand Bounces Back with Dominant Win Over Argentina

New Zealand rebounded from their earlier defeat to Argentina with a commanding 42-10 victory in their Rugby Championship rematch. After losing 38-30 to the Pumas the previous week, the All Blacks dominated the game in Auckland, scoring five tries in the first half to establish a 35-3 lead. Damian McKenzie and Jordie Barrett combined for an early try with further contributions from captain Ardie Savea, Caleb Clarke, Will Jordan and Beauden Barrett.

Jordan’s second-half try, his 33rd in 33 internationals, showcased New Zealand’s continued dominance. McKenzie converted all of his team’s tries. Argentina’s Juan Cruz Mallia scored a late consolation try, but the All Blacks extended their unbeaten run at Eden Park to 50 Tests. “We’re very happy to get the win and respond the way we did,” Savea said. “We need to bring that level of performance every week and not rely on a loss to prompt such a response.”

In another Rugby Championship match, South Africa continued their strong form by defeating Australia 30-12 in Perth. The Springboks, fresh off a win against Australia secured their second victory with tries from Aphelele Fassi, Marco van Staden and two from Malcolm Marx. Australia initially led through a Noah Lolesio penalty but trailed 11-9 at halftime.

South Africa’s Van Staden and Marx scored in the second half to cement the win, despite Lolesio’s fourth penalty. The next Rugby Championship fixtures will see South Africa host New Zealand in consecutive matches while Australia will travel to Argentina for their upcoming game.
