Jack Draper's Injury Sets Back Training Plans
Jack Draper, Britain’s top tennis player had to cancel his training week with world number one Carlos Alcaraz due to a minor hip injury. The 22-year-old was eager to train with Alcaraz to elevate his game and prepare for the upcoming tennis season. While this hip injury differs from the one that bothered him earlier in the year, it comes at an inconvenient time. Draper is uncertain about his participation in the United Cup, a team event scheduled for late December.
His main focus is on the Australian Open which starts on January 12th. Despite the setback, Draper remains committed to his training and recovery. He’s currently doing gym work to maintain his fitness and hopes to return to full training soon. He expressed disappointment at having to cancel the training session with Alcaraz, as it would have been a valuable learning experience. Draper has enjoyed a breakthrough year, climbing to world number 15 and reaching the US Open semi-finals.
However, his injury history is a concern and he must manage his workload carefully to avoid further setbacks. Beyond tennis, Jack Draper is actively involved in charity work. He’s an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society and recently participated in a Memory Walk to raise awareness and funds. He’s been open about how Alzheimer’s has affected his family, especially his grandmother and has praised his grandfather for his dedicated care.
