Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur Announce Engagement

Katie Boulter has announced her engagement to Australian player Alex de Minaur, who currently ranks as world number nine. The couple, who met while competing on the tennis circuit, has been in a relationship for nearly five years. Boulter ranked 24th globally, shared the news on Instagram by posting a photo of her engagement ring with the caption, “We’ve been keeping a small secret.”

The couple will face off in the upcoming United Cup in Sydney, starting January 1 where Great Britain will compete against Australia. Both Boulter, 28 and De Minaur, 25, have joined their respective teams. The tournament format includes two singles matches and a mixed doubles tie per fixture which means the couple could play against each other in doubles.

Before the engagement news broke, Boulter expressed mixed feelings about potentially facing her fiancé on the court. “I wouldn’t say I was thrilled at the idea of playing him all over again,” Boulter said. “He’s a top-10 player and knows how to play tennis, but the personal side of it is difficult, though it does make for great bragging rights.”

Despite the potential challenges of playing against each other, Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur have teamed up in mixed doubles. They reached the second round of the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon last year, demonstrating their strong on-court chemistry. The engagement marks a major milestone in their personal lives as they continue to build both their tennis careers and relationship.
