Nelly Korda will "undergo treatment" before returning to the Tour.
Nelly Korda, the world number one, announced that she will miss the upcoming Aramco Team Series event in Hemel Hempstead next week due to a dog bite. The 25-year-old American golfer, who planned to defend her title at the Centurion Club, shared the news on social media, stating, “On Saturday in Seattle, a dog bit me, and I need time to receive treatment and recover fully.”
Korda apologized to the Ladies European Tour (LET), the event sponsors, and her fans for her unexpected absence. “I apologize to the LET, the sponsors, and my fans for my absence. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to returning to the course soon,” she wrote.
Nelly Korda has enjoyed a stellar career so far with 14 wins on the LPGA Tour, including her second major victory at the Chevron Championship in April. Fans and organizers will keenly feel her absence from the Aramco Team Series, scheduled to take place from 3-5 July, as she has dominated women’s golf.
The Aramco Team Series is part of the Ladies European Tour and combines individual and team play, attracting top talent from around the world. Korda’s withdrawal will undoubtedly disappoint fans and organizers but her health and recovery remain the top priorities.
As Korda focuses on her recovery, the golfing community eagerly awaits her return to the course. Her talent and competitive spirit have made her one of the most exciting players in the game, and the Centurion Club will miss her presence. Fans and fellow competitors alike wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back in action soon.
